Seven months of work from a producer better known for building other people’s records inside the IntoMyMind circle.
Mansoura-based Omar Gangster, also known in the scene as “Gangster The Gawd,” steps out from behind the boards after seven months of work on his latest EP, ‘21’.
Alongside names like Afroto, Big Moe, and DizzyTooSkinny, Omar works inside a production-driven circle ‘IntoMyMind’, which has been steadily influencing the current rap landscape in Egypt.
Leaning heavily on collaboration and varied flow patterns, the EP unfolds as a multi-voice effort, bringing in Young Giza, Hazem Medhat, Qetoo, Ghassan, Tattoos, Hala Sherif, and Zalka across a 14-minute, five-track run: ‘Msekt Fl Bako’, ‘Gabal’, ‘Haifa Wehbe’, ‘Mara 7abet Kadaba’, and ‘Fasla’,
The project sits at the intersection of trap and Egyptian street rap, with clear nods to drill patterns, melodic trap phrasing, and occasional mahraganat-adjacent rhythmic choices.
Here, the overall production deliberately moves toward minimal, loop-driven arrangements, centered around 808-led basslines, clipped hi-hat sequencing, and synth layers. The beats rely on negative space and repetition, allowing vocal cadences and flows to dictate momentum. Across the EP, there’s a consistent balance between mid-tempo trap cuts and more uptempo, percussive-driven tracks designed for live settings.
His Previous work ranged from rigid, percussive street rap production to more restrained, melody-forward cuts like El Otta Doja and ‘21’ sits directly between those approaches.
