At Berlin’s Citadel festival, the band handed the microphone to the son of Marwan Barghouti to call for his father’s release.
Marwan Barghouti’s son, Arab Barghouti, was brought on stage by Massive Attack at Berlin’s Citadel Music Festival, where he called for the release of his father.
He praised Massive Attack for consistently standing on the right side of history. Having been outspoken supporters of Palestine, using their platform to express solidarity with Palestinians. The band has a long history of political activism, including launching support initiatives for musicians, organizing concert-based advocacy campaigns, and participating in protests, alongside many other social justice movements they have supported over the years.
“We need to remember that my father, Marwan Barghouti, represents something that Israel cannot imprison: hope.
Hope for a better future. Hope for Palestinian children to live in peace. Hope for freedom.
And always remember that hope is the biggest threat to the oppressors.” – Arab Barghouti
