Snor finally delivers ‘Miracle’

The masked Moroccan rapper has spent years being one of the region’s most distinctive presences without a debut album to point at. Not any more.

Standing out with a mysterious anonymity, defined by his not-your-average masked persona and signature pigtailed ropes, Moroccan rapper Snor, a leading and progressive figure within the Middle Eastern and North African rap scene, returns with his long-awaited debut album ‘Miracle’.

Sitting in the space between Maghreb hip-hop and melodic trap, while borrowing from emo rap, the project leans toward emotional storytelling than technical rap showmanship. Snor’s debut album, a 40-minute listen, arrives with a heavyweight list of collaborators spanning local and regional hip-hop, including 7LIWA, Madd, Najm, Wegz, Akoa, and Xcep.

It’s not often that a debut album avoids identity-driven range, but Miracle deliberately prioritizes overall cohesion and doesn’t vary in drastic in energy shifts.

Across its 14 tracks, Snor threads together different phases of his artistic journey, drawing from years of pressure, ambition, and introspection to form a cohesive full-length project. The themes circle around pressure, survival, and emotional strain. You can also hear traces of cloud rap in the way space and atmosphere are used, giving the music a slightly floating, detached quality.

A sense of loneliness runs through the project, the title track, 'Miracle,' sees the emotional centerpiece, capturing the album’s essence in its most distilled form. 'Semmha' stands out for its melodic pull and relatability, particularly in how it handles heartbreak with a catchy yet heavy hook. 'ÉVIDEMMENT,' shows a slight contrast and broader appeal without breaking the album’s cohesion.
