Rayan, Samar Tarik and Houda on authenticity and streaming, in a scene rewriting its own rules faster than its institutions can follow.

A conversation on the future of music and the new generation of artists shaping their own path in a rapidly changing industry. Moderated by Samira Azab, co-founder of Creazma, the panel brought together rising Egyptian artists Rayan, Samar Tarik, and Houda to discuss authenticity, streaming culture, and evolving audience behavior.

“Public taste has changed, and Gen Z is pushing artists toward making shorter songs rather than 10-track albums,” said Houda, while Samira Azab noted that audiences today “always want something quick and easy to take away, not long songs.”

“When an artist gets closer to who they truly are inside, they create more honest and authentic art,” said Samar Tarik, while Rayan challenged stereotypes around pop music, explaining that artists can express far more than romance through the genre. Together, the panel reflected on how a new wave of Egyptian artists is navigating creativity, authenticity, and visibility in today’s digital-first music landscape.
