Two decades on from their debut, the three-oud brothers add dates across Turkey and Europe.

The three-oud brothers of Le Trio Joubran announce additional dates in Adana, Gaziantep, Ankara, Konya, Brussels, and Utrecht as part of their celebration of 20 years since their debut by embarking on a UK and European tour titled Twenty Springs.

Their recordings focus on stories of Palestinian resilience and suffering, featuring field recordings of buzzing drones, rustling trees, and children’s laughter from Gaza, which are blended with moody bass tones and a yearning oud melody.

The tour kicked off last December in Vernouillet and included performances across Paris, Istanbul, Bursa, Antalya, Marseille, and London. Carrying the musical heritage of Palestinian culture to each stage, the trio explores themes of pain, resistance, and hope in its performances.

Growing up in Nazareth as the fourth generation of a family of renowned oud makers and players, the 5,000-year-old instrument played a central role in the brothers’ lives. Inspired both by their family heritage and Western artists such as Michael Jackson and Carlos Santana, they began playing together in their youth and made their Paris live debut in 2004.

The three brothers, consisting of Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran, come from a distinguished musical family. Their father, Hatem Joubran, is an acclaimed string-instrument craftsman known throughout the Arab world, while their mother, Ibtisam Hanna Joubran, is a singer.
