Bader remixes ‘Libya on Speed’ eight ways

What began as one third of a three-country experiment in 2023 comes back as an EP of its own.

DJ, producer, and founder of Yalla Worldwide, Bader, has released an 8-track remix EP of ‘Libya on Speed’.

Originally released in 2023, ‘Libya on Speed’ began as an experiment within a three-track EP that also included ‘Syria on Speed’ and ‘Belgium on Speed’. The project blends the musical and cultural influences of the artist’s upbringing with the raw, abrasive sounds of contemporary underground club music. What emerged is a distinctive hybrid that has since found a global audience.

Born to a Libyan mother and a Syrian father, Bader spent his formative years between Benghazi and Damascus. His auditory landscape was shaped by the rhythmic patterns of Libyan tagaza majrouda and the refined strains of Syrian classical music.

“Libya on Speed” has been featured in DJ sets and underground club spaces internationally, and the project has received support from artists and selectors across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. It is widely regarded as part of a new wave of Arabic electronic music that fuses regional sonic heritage with high-energy global club experimentation, introducing Libyan-inspired sounds to new audiences worldwide.

The remix lineup features contributions from across the SWANA underground scene, including 3XOJ, D3MOR, 5AMASEEN, WILLILLAH, OUELLA, HISHAM, ORTENSIO, and HMENOU, artists whose work reflects the diversity and ongoing evolution of contemporary electronic music across the region and beyond.
