Sudanese-Saudi rapper Dafencii has released ‘Shatatt’, a track running under three minutes that explores mental overload, financial pressure, and the frustrations of everyday life.
The track opens with the familiar Pornhub intro jingle before moving into punchy trap percussion and heavy 808s. It moves between economic hardship, overthinking, and distrust, with Dafencii drawing on humour and pop culture references to express the chaos of his state of mind. References to Ben 10 and The Smurfs sit alongside Sudanese slang and Arabic wordplay, including a line about using the plural form of Arabic grammar when talking to himself, reflecting a mind crowded with competing thoughts.
Midway through, an Egyptian vocal sample briefly breaks up the beat before Dafencii returns to the hook, reinforcing the track’s sense of scattered thoughts and collective frustration. The title, which roughly translates to “scattered” or “dispersed,” reflects the track’s central theme. The artwork echoes this idea, depicting Dafencii in a clown costume, seemingly stuttering as he picks his cards.
